Trafalgar Night

Enjoy a 3-course meal with friends at this annual, not to be missed, club event!

At 11:48 on the 21st October 1805, HMS Victory hoisted Nelson's famous signal to the Fleet ..."England expects that every man will do his duty"

For Cargreen Yacht Club's annual celebration dinner, we only expect everyone to have a good time amongst friends!

This event is open to members and their invited guests. There will be background music from Dennis OKelly, a Cornwall based classical guitarist, and a talk about Nelson and the Battle of Trafalgar from Stephen Malcolm OBE JP MA CSci CMarSci FIMarEST MSoM retired Captain and Hydrographer for the Royal Navy.

There will be a well-stocked bar, but if you wish to bring your own refreshments, we ask you to donate to our charity for 2024, the RNLI who are celebrating their 200th anniversary.

The menu for the evening can be found below. Please register you attendance on Eventbrite (link below) and make your menu choices when you check-out. A GoCardless payment link will be sent to you later. The meal is £45.00 per person.

Dress code: for the gentlemen, the options are dress uniform, black tie, jacket & tie. For the ladies, please dress to impress, as always!

Menu:

Starter

- Plymouth gin and pink grapefruit cured salmon gravlax, pickled cucumber and sour cream (GF)

- Breaded halloumi, homemade tomato and chilli jam, glazed walnuts, apples and grapes (can be GF)

- Beetroot and goats cheese terrine, honey, pistachios and pea shoots (GF)

Main

- Devon pork belly and pork tenderloin, bubble and squeak, seasonal vegetables, apple, crackling and red wine jus (GF )

- Seabass fillet, fondant potato, samphire, mussels and lobster cream sauce ( GF)

- Butternut squash, Brie and spinach wellington, roasted vegetables and spicy red pepper and tomato sauce (can do a GF alternative)

Dessert

- Blackberry pannacotta, poached blackberries, vanilla cream and honeycomb (GF)

- Sticky toffee pudding, salted caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream

- Mulled wine poached pear with homemade cinnamon marshmallow (GF)
